Windows 7 Alt+Tab Behavior

If you want to change how Windows 7 behaves when pressing the ALT + TAB keys to scroll through the open applications then follow the steps below. This registry modification will return the ALT +TAB behavior like it was in previous versions of Windows.

To start the registry editor, type regedit in the Start menu search text box and press enter. Go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer and create a DWORD value called AltTabSettings with a value of 1.

Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

DWORD (32-bit) Value name: AltTabSettings

Value: 1

A word of caution – incorrectly editing the registry may severely damage your system. The above modifications are intended for Windows advanced users who are familiar with the registry editor. Users are also reminded to backup the registry before making any critical changes.
