Save a Windows Explorer session when shutting down your computer
In Windows 7 and its predecessors Vista and XP, you can configure your system to automatically restore a previous Windows Explorer session upon logon. Any Explorer windows that are opened when you restart or shutdown your system will be loaded at the next logon.
To enable this feature:
- Open a Windows Explorer window and press the keyboard Alt button
- From the menu, click Tools and then Folder Options…
- On the View tab, enable the Restore previous folder windows at logon option
